The Bandstand

Aberystwyth’s Edwardian bandstand was first constructed in 1935 and was originally built roofless but then adapted and improved to protect the musicians and audience from the weather.

Used by hundreds of performers over the years (including some impromptu Led Zeppelin jam sessions in the early 1970s), a completely new building replaced the old one in 2016 with an external walkway added around it.

As last year, the Bandstand will be home to our official box office! Here you can pick up a programme, check up to date ticket availability, speak to our festival team and, of course, buy tickets for shows!

Our access information point is also at the Bandstand should you want to call in and chat through any access queries on the weekend.

Not only this, but in keeping with its long-standing association with live performances, the Bandstand is also home to our free festival programme of street theatre on Saturday & Sunday. Full listings will be available at the venue during the festival. Make sure you stop by and check them out!
