It’s a new comedy festival in Aberystwyth in October from Little Wander, the team behind the Machynlleth Comedy Festival.

How is it different from Mach?

At the start of May, Machynlleth primarily focuses on work-in-progress shows in pop-up spaces. Since 2010, we have grown from 30 shows attracting 500 visitors to our most recent event in 2018 which featured over 250 performances and an audience of over 7,000!

5 months later, at the other end of the creative process, we are going to showcase our pick of completed shows, ready to go out on tour in established performance spaces in Aberystwyth. We’ll kick things off this October with around 40 shows from Friday evening through to Sunday night.

Is Aberystwyth Comedy Festival going to replace Machynlleth Comedy Festival?

Absolutely not!  They will have two very separate identities at opposing ends of the comedy calendar.

We will be celebrating our 10th birthday in Mach in 2019 and look forward to bringing the event to the town for many more years to come.

Whilst 2018 is starting much smaller in Aber, we have big ambitions and hope to establish it as another quality annual event in mid-Wales for comedy fans from all over the UK.
