What Is It?

It’s a comedy festival in Aberystwyth in October from Little Wander, the team behind the Machynlleth Comedy Festival.

How is it different from Mach?

At the start of May, Machynlleth primarily focuses on work-in-progress shows in pop-up spaces. Since 2010, we have grown from 30 shows attracting 500 visitors to our most recent event this year which featured over 200 performances and an audience of over 8,000!

5 months later, at the other end of the creative process, we are going to showcase our pick of completed shows, ready to go out on tour alongside some additional Work in Progress shows from acts that want to fine tune their set in front of a comedy-savvy crowd.

It all takes place in 6 venues within the Arts Centre building on the University campus – 50 shows from Friday evening through to Sunday night.

Is Aberystwyth Comedy Festival going to replace Machynlleth Comedy Festival?

Absolutely not!  They will have two very separate identities at opposing ends of the comedy calendar.

We are delighted to be able to bring comedy fans from all over the UK to mid-Wales for two fun filled weekends in May and October.
