Covid 19 Guidelines and FAQ’s
Covid Policy & FAQs
With Covid restrictions slowly easing and regulations continually changing, we appreciate it can be hard to keep track of the rules, especially as Welsh Government guidelines are different from those elsewhere in the UK. To help you navigate the uncertainty, we’ve put together a list of COVID-19 FAQs below.
Any update to the information within this section will be made on our website and social media pages in line with any changes to Government advice. We will always ensure that we’re doing everything we can to keep you informed and ensure our attendees and crew as safe as possible.
Do I have to present proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter your venues?
We ask that all customers provide proof of vaccination (the easiest option is to show the little card that you had when you had your vaccine). If you’re yet to have your second jab, or are not vaccinated, we ask that you take a lateral flow test on the day of the first performance you are attending and show the dated confirmation message. Once you’ve done this, we can allocate you a Good to Go wristband,
You can find out where to pick up lateral flow tests on this link https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
Good to Go Wristband – What’s this?
With the above requirements of entry in place, checking each individual’s details before a show could be lengthy process. In order to speed things up and minimise waiting times getting into venues, we are asking everyone attending to get a proof of vaccination or negative test wristband BEFORE arriving at a show.
This will ensure you don’t have to go through the checks when you arrive at a venue AND your wristband will be valid for all shows if you are attending more than one.
When and where do I get a wristband?
We are setting up two wristbanding points – one at the Festival Box Office at the Cambria in town and another up at Aberystwyth Arts Centre. These will be open at the following times:
Friday 1 October Midday – 10.30pm
Saturday 2 October 10am – 11pm
Sunday 3 October 10am – 9pm
IMPORTANT It is essential that you get your wristband from one of these locations before turning up to a show. We advise getting them at least two hours before your first show starts but basically the earlier the better!
We really appreciate your cooperation on this. We hope that by ensuring you get your wristband in advance makes your entry into shows as quick and easy as possible.
Will the venues be operating at full capacity?
Following the move by Welsh Government to Alert Level 0 on 7 August 2021, there are currently no legal restrictions on the number of people who can meet indoors at events, other than the physical seated capacity of the room. As a result, all venues will be operating at full capacity during the festival.
What other Covid secure measures will venues have in place?
For the ongoing safety and comfort of everyone our venues will continue to operate as a minimum:
- Mandatory face coverings within the venue (unless seated for the performance).
- Increased frequency of cleaning activities between each show.
- Sanitising stations will be in place at all venue access points.
Will I have to wear a face covering?
Face coverings will be required to be worn at all times inside festival venues EXCEPT whilst seated during the performance. This is a legal requirement for all multi-purpose venues in Wales – e.g. theatres with a bar.
Please note: Wearing face coverings is still a legal requirement in Wales in almost all indoor public places, including on almost all public transport and in shops.
Will the venue staff be wearing PPE?
Our crew and volunteers will continue to wear appropriate PPE within the venues when working in close contact with others, including audience members.
What if I test positive or am showing any symptoms?
If you are showing any symptoms or have had a positive Lateral Flow or PCR test please just get in touch and we’ll give you a full refund.
Will your staff still be tested for Coronavirus?
All of our festival team members will complete lateral flow tests prior to the start of their shift at the festival.
Will I get a full refund if the festival cannot run as planned due to Covid restrictions?
Yes of course. In such circumstances, refund arrangements will be communicated directly with customers via the contact details supplied at the time of booking as well as via our social media pages.
