Magnet is the latest solo comedy show from Welsh stand-up Mike Bubbins. Mike has had a busy couple of years, starring in BBC Television shows The Unexplainers, Tourist Trap, and Stand Up for BBC Wales, as well as appearing in BBC shows such as Josh, Warren, Soft Border Patrol, Scrum V and Make Wales Happy, and Dave TV’s Ultimate Worrier. He’s also starred in the award winning Radio 4 comedy series The Beef and Dairy Network, and appeared in and wrote for a lot of other BBC radio shows, which, lets be honest, isn’t as impressive as the TV stuff.

Magnet is a show which references almost none of these things, but they might get your bum on a seat to watch it, because me just telling you that it’s really funny and has had lovely reviews will mean nothing, when all most people ever really want to know is ‘Have I seen you on the Telly?’. So there we go. Basically, Magnet is an hour of stand-up comedy about life, that will be part funny (85%), part uplifting (10%) and part interactive (5% maximum, depending on the audience).

So come and watch it, have a good laugh, and then when I’m on bigger TV programmes, in a year or so, you’ll be able to say ‘Hey, Gillian, that’s that bloke we saw in Aberystwyth. He was REALLY funny. Thank God we went to see him then, because now that he’s massive he’ll be unlikely to ever play in Aberystwyth again!*

*I will play in Aberystwyth again, if I go global.**

** Not legally binding.

Restoration Levy – £1.00 of the advertised on-sale ticket price goes to Aberystwyth Comedy Festival for the continued development and improvement of the event.
